The EFMC8 (Euromech Fluid Mechanics Conference 8) will be held at the Alte Königliche Kurhaus (Royal Spa House) which is centrally located in Bad Reichenhall—a town renowned for its art and culture as well as its thermal springs. Bad Reichenhall gives you the opportunity to enjoy the idyllic Alpine landscape and you will only be a short distance to famous attractions such as the Berchtesgaden ski resort, the fairytale lakes of Koenigsee and Chiemsee and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s birthplace—Salzburg.
The "Königliche Kurhaus" poses as the visiting card of the conference and convention town. Thanks to a magnificent mountain setting and the famous Alpsclimate, the town could manage to establish as a spa in the year 1846. The reputation of the spa also took advantage of the visit of the Bavarian King Maximilian II who ordered to build the spa house. The "Alte Königliche Kurhaus", as a singular beauty in architecture and facade design, was finished on 24 May 1900 and was given its name "Altes Kurhaus"—"Old Spa House". Nowadays the Altes Kurhaus is used as a conference center.
